Accessibility information
The Bob Hope Theatre strives to be open and accessible to everyone, and has implemented a range of measures to assist and support our patrons.
We recognise that every visitor has different needs. Therefore if your individual requirements are not covered by the information below please feel free to contact us in advance to see how we may be able to help.
Also, when visiting our theatre, please let our Front of House team know if you require any assistance.

Accessible booking
o If you are unable to book tickets online, or prefer to book direct, then please contact our Box Office.
Hearing loop
o We have an induction hearing loop in the main auditorium for visitors using compatible hearing aids or hearing devices.
o To connect, please switch your device to its T, T-coil, Telecoil or Loop setting. This may not be enabled automatically on all devices, so you may need to select it manually or check with your audiologist before your visit.
Building access and seating (including for wheelchair users)
o We have level access to our building, and all public areas are step-free, including the foyer, bar, auditorium and accessible toilet.
o We have two spaces in our auditorium available for wheelchair users, in row A. Please note these are spaces for wheelchairs only and cannot double as a regular seat. Alternatively, if a wheelchair user is able to transfer then any standard seat in row A may be suitable.
o To book wheelchair spaces please contact our Box Office directly (these cannot be booked online).
o The auditorium seating beyond row A has steps with handrails.
Neurodivergence / Relaxed performances
o For certain productions we are pleased to offer “relaxed performances” which are specially adapted to be more welcoming and accessible for individuals.
o We recognise that every visitor has different needs and we are happy to discuss individual requirements in advance. For example ear defenders are welcome.
o To book tickets for these performances please visit, telephone or email our Box Office (these tickets cannot be booked online) so we can take account of any specific needs and make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
Essential companion tickets
o The Bob Hope Theatre is committed to providing an inclusive experience for all our patrons. That’s why we are proud to support the Access Card Scheme, a nationally recognised system that simplifies access for visitors with additional needs.
o We offer Essential Companion tickets free for visitors who hold an Access Card featuring the +1 or +2 symbol for our own productions (i.e. by the Bob Hope Theatre Actors’ Company), plus certain other events. Simply add the tickets needed to your basket and enter your Access Card details when prompted.
o If you don’t have an Access Card, our partners at Nimbus can undertake a FREE application for you to obtain a Bob Hope Theatre Digital Access Pass (DAP) so you can book an Essential Companion ticket for your visit. Once you have applied and it has been approved, the ID number issued will be valid for 3 years and can be used for future online ticket bookings.

o Please ensure you bring your Access Card or DAP confirmation email with you on the day of the performance. This will need to be presented alongside your ticket when entering.
Assistance dogs
o Assistance dogs are welcome in all public areas of the theatre.
o Please contact our Box Office in advance to ensure the production is suitable.
Accessible toilet
o We have one toilet at the front of the building, located near the entrance to the bar, which is accessible for everyone, including wheelchair users.
Parking
o Our theatre does not have its own parking facilities. However parking is available in nearby streets, including on yellow/double-yellow lines subject to relevant restrictions.
o In addition, we do have one space on our forecourt which may be available to Blue Badge users. This parking space must be pre-booked and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. It cannot be booked online, so please contact our Box office in advance.
